Ethan, Aleayahs and Zach
Once a week, Ethan goes to Aleayah’s house to join couple other babies of his age (Ethan is the youngest) in the birthlight swim lesson. After the swim, they would take a nap, while the adults chat and relax away. Coincidentally, all of them would nap and wake at about the same time. After their nap, they get to play with each other in Aleayahs “play ring”. It is a lot of fun seeing them playing with each other, where we tried to install the concept of “sharing”, “be gentle”.
Both Ethan and Aleayahs looked immensely at Zach, who was crying and going to his mummy. Classic candid picture.

Breast Milk ice cream
The summer is coming and Ethan inherent my tendency to sweat and becomes overheated. During our trip to Hualien, he loves tasting on my ice cream, so thought that I could also make him an ice cream that would be suitable for him using breast milk. As I was looking for recipe, I came across a cafe that sells ice cream made with human breast milk selling for $20 pounds per scoop. Ouch.
Daddy…keep moving
Ethan really enjoy us moving (walking) and now that he can sit, he loves sitting on our belly while we do various hip and ab exercises.
Rice Dumping Festival
This past weekend was the rice dumpling festival. This is the day where we would have a family gathering and eat rice dumplings. In Taiwan, it is even a national holiday!
The history of rice dumpling festival originates from a man who tried to advice the king the country. However the king refused to listen to his advice. Out of despair and disappointment, he jumped into the river and committed suicide. The villagers were afraid that the fish or other animals would eat his corpse and so made these rice dumpling to feed the fishes.

Hello from the States
Joyce and Rosemary family visited Taiwan for a couple of weeks. We met up with them at the Grand Hotel during the Rice Dumpling festival after lunch at Grandpa’s. Lindsay (Joyce’s 2nd daughter) holds the longest record of holding Ethan.
