Learning to swim day 2
New Year bike ride
The weather here was awesome today… almost like a balmy fall weather, so we went out for another 30km bike ride. The route was beautiful and without many cars for most of the way. Wish some of you can join us on this ride!

Finally out for a bike ride and lunch
The weather finally had a break from a string of rainy days, so Pei and I went out for a 33 km bike ride starting from home. Most of the route was very nice except for a section with lots of truck traffic. This was Pei’s first ride after the 1st trimester, so she was very excited. Pei got to try out our new aluminum aero tri bike, weighing in at 8.8kg (complete with a heavy pedal!)… we are hoping this bike will make a strong showing in the tri community although several people had said tri bikes are only for upgrade, which means people will only upgrade to something expensive. We will see.

We then went out to lunch after Ethan had his meal. So crazy that a Thai restaurant said they closed at 1:30pm on a Saturday! I think they didn’t want to have a baby in the restaurant… we are never going back there again. Ethan woke up toward the end of our meal. We managed a diaper change and a breast feeding right there in the store (it was thinning out), so we had some fun burping him and taking a few photos…

Out of Hospital
Grandma and grandpa visits during visiting hour
Ethan is born!
Born date time: 2013/11/02 – 16:33
重量 / weight: 3260g

Pei started having contraction around 3:30am, but she knew it was early stage so we waited until 5:30am to go to the hospital. Spent an hour at the hospital observation, but partially because there were so many other ladies waiting to deliver, they decided to sent us home. Just when Pei was getting up, her water broke. She then become bedridden the entire time and didn’t enter final stage until about 12:45pm. Even then, she labored until 4:30pm (with help with small cut from the doctor – still consider natural birth) that Ethan was born. Pei is recovering well, but having difficulty walking. We couldn’t bring Ethan out to be with us until the pediatrics gives the green light (later OK’ed a day and half later).
